Living hope in Christ for all nations! (1 Peter 1:3)

Statements of Faith

New Life City Church has adopted the Apostles’ Creed that expresses our faith in the Triune God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We also subscribe to the three confessions of faith that distinguish our teachings from that of other denominations, viz.:

  • The Belgic Confession which summarizes what the Bible teaches about itself, our fall into sin, Christ, salvation, the church, civil government, and our Lord’s return.

  • The Heidelberg Catechism which provides an excellent tool for teaching the Reformed faith. It emphasizes three aspects, viz. The total depravity of man, unearned salvation in Christ, and life of gratitude to God.

  • The Canons of Dordt which is often summarized by the word TULIP, T for total depravity, U for Unconditional election, L for Limited atonement, I for Irresistible grace of God, and P for the Perseverance of the saints.

New Life City Church stands in unity with all Christian Churches that subscribe to the above-mentioned three confessions of faith, hence we recognize the fact that we have brothers and sisters from other denominations, who believe in the Triune God, and confess that Jesus died for their sins, rose from the dead, and ascended into heaven for them.

We reckon the fact that our statements of faith are biblically grounded and that they summarize the core of our faith that brings us to total salvation in Christ, but at the same time note that they are written by men and therefore are fallible. Consequently, new statements of faith can be written and adopted, and the old are subjected to revision as long as they are proven beyond doubt to be contrary to the infallible Word of God.
